The first edition of #LeavesOfGrass, the evolving book of #poetry by the great #WaltWhitman, was published on #ThisDayInHistory in 1855. Initially just 12 poems, the final edition the #queer icon left to us contains 383 often achingly beautiful works on nature, freedom, and love.
