@gloriouscow@oldbytes.space I have an O2. I set out to get an Indy, but got an O2. The O2 is cool, but everything I've used it for I could've done more cheaply and quietly and in less space with an Indy. Maybe get an Indy.
Right now the O2 system is on the shelf because I needed space for an Apple IIe.
Here's a gallery of my O2 in its various settings: https://www.flickr.com/photos/blakespot/albums/72157604335087061/#SGI #SGIO2 #O2 #O2Workstation #IRIX #UNIX #vintagecomputing #retrocomputing #retrocomputers #workstation #computers #tech #vintagetech

Now we're getting to the good part of #irix
After the just unacceptably and inexplicably bad install process.

I found this ad for a six-degree-of-freedom 3D input device in the Summer 1989 issue of the SGI magazine "IRIS Universe".
I remember seeing stuff like this around in the 90s, but it all seemed so inaccessible at the time. Flipping through these old professional magazines, you spot some interesting engineering and industrial design.
@flexion@oldbytes.space, you should get one of these, restore it, and get it working on one of your systems.
