#introduction #newhere Dear #Mastoart people and everyone, I'm 2 months into #fediverse and moving to this server from toot.community that is closing. About me: 🎙️record talks, doodle, write about #nature, #philosophy, #creativity, #biomimicry... 🫂do group facilitation and 1:1 support practices 🗺️enjoy connecting art & science into interdisciplinary concepts (like Voda Má - a water resilience project inspired by a song) Copied a few of my posts to this account, so that you can get to know me🙏

How Sea Stars Build Materials That Can See

When engineers think about protective materials, like those used in packaging and support, they usually think about strength, stiffness and durability. But what if those same materials could also sense their external environment? That question emerged unexpectedly for Ling Li, Associate Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, when his lab and colleagues were investigating how […]

What can biology teach us about building better technology? By drawing parallels between microbial networks and the Reticulum protocol, I explore why the future of society looks less like a corporate pyramid and more like a mycelial web. https://sein.com.au/articles/network-as-mycelial-web/ #SystemsThinking #Biomimicry #Decentralisation #Reticulum #Mycelium

The Network is a Mycelial Web

Drawing parallels between the decentralised intelligence of microbial networks and the architecture of resilient technologies like Reticulum, this article explores what biology can teach us about building better systems.

💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: 🦔⚙️ #Duke University researchers designed #Argus, a 20-legged spherical #robot that moves by rolling and shuffling rather than walking. Built around a principle called dynamic #isotropy, the robot can accelerate equally well in any direction. 👉 https://www.zmescience.com/science/news-science/20-legged-robot-argus-rep/ #robotics #dukeuniversity #engineering #science #tech #technology #biomimicry #innovation #math #physics #education

This Weird 20-Legged Robot Moves Like Nothing Else on Earth and It Could Change How We Build Machines

Argus defies traditional robotics by being guided exclusively by mathematical symmetry rather than biological design.
